For Immediate Release

Announce full occupancy with three lease deals

Washington Township, N.J. (May 28, 2019) – Atkins Companies and Woodmont Properties, both multigenerational commercial real estate development, investment, and property management firms,  announce that they have negotiated three medical office leases totaling over  20,000 square feet at their new Rothman Medical Building located at 243 Hurffville-Cross Keys Road in Washington Township, Gloucester County, N.J. Developed in a joint venture partnership between Atkins Companies, Woodmont Properties, and Rothman Orthopaedic Institute, one of the region’s largest independent orthopaedic practices, the state-of-the-art 40,000-square-foot medical office building opened in late 2018. Rothman occupies the entire 20,000 square foot second floor of the building and the new leases, including the Heart House for 9,450 square feet, Jefferson Health for 7,700 square feet and AdvoCare for 3,100 square feet, bring the property to full occupancy less than a year after its opening.

The Rothman Medical Building anchors the 35-acre Washington Square Town Center project being developed by Atkins and Woodmont.  Nearing construction completion, the project will also feature 330 residential apartments, 100 townhomes, 30,000 square feet of retail space, and an assisted living facility, creating a unique and exciting mixed-use community in Gloucester County, N.J.

“When we initially embarked on this project with our development partners many years ago, we saw a tremendous opportunity in the local market for a state-of-the-art medical office facility geared towards growing healthcare systems,” said Bob Atkins, Managing Partner of Atkins Companies. “Rothman recognized our expertise in the medical office asset class and through our partnership, we were able to create a space tailor-made for their long-term needs to help them continue to establish a larger presence in New Jersey. For us, this type of partnership represents a win-win for all parties, and we’d like to thank their senior leadership team for their cooperation and vision in bringing this project to completion.”

The construction of the Rothman Medical Building and the addition of three, 10,000-square-foot free-standing retail buildings allows the expansive project to attract a mix of traditional retail operators and medical tenants searching for either standalone or ground-level retail options. Through providing a strategic blend of brand-new medical, residential, and retail spaces, Atkins and Woodmont aim to create one of New Jersey’s most unique mixed-use communities.

Atkins added, “The Rothman Medical Building enables each health care tenant to enhance their delivery of in-demand medical services and increases the local community’s access to care. We hope that our success in the leasing of this facility and overall execution of our development team’s Washington Square Town Center vision can serve as a model for a new kind of mixed-use development built with the needs of a cross-generational population in mind.”

Operating out of several locations across south Jersey, The Heart House is one of the region’s most experienced cardiovascular practices. Emphasizing patient-focused, state-of-the-art cardiovascular care, Heart House is utilizing its space at the Rothman Medical Building to consolidate smaller local offices into a centrally located facility to increase the overall patient experience.

Based in Philadelphia, Jefferson Health offers a robust network of hospitals, urgent care facilities, and primary care physicians throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Their lease at the Rothman Medical Building will allow them to create the Jefferson Outpatient Imaging Center, a state-of-the-art imaging and radiology center to support their Washington Township hospital, located less than a mile away at 435 Hurffville-Cross Keys Road. Along with the building’s other tenants, Jefferson Health’s presence provides the building with another strong regional medical tenant looking to expand their delivery of care in the southern New Jersey market to meet the healthcare needs of the region’s growing population.

Headquartered in Marlton, N.J., Advocare is an integrated physician-owned multi-specialty organization in New Jersey and Pennsylvania offering a wide range of specialties. Their lease at the Rothman Medical Building will allow them to expand their Ob/Gyn services in a strategically located, modern medical office space.
