News Release: MedCore Partners and The National Realty Group (TNRG) Announce the Start of Construction on Fountainwood at Lake Houston, a Senior Living Community near Lake Houston

MedCore Partners and TNRG announce the commencement of construction on a 7-acre site on the northeast corner of W. Lake Houston Parkway and Will Clayton Parkway for a 190-unit senior living community. Situated just off the shores of Lake Houston and offering premier senior living services to the northeast Houston sector, Fountainwood at Lake Houston will offer 98 Independent Living, 68 Assisted Living, and 24 Memory Care apartments. With a wide variety of floorplans ranging from studios to two-bedroom apartments, residents of Fountainwood will pay a monthly rental fee and enjoy a vast array of premium programs and services in this 200,000 square foot community. Fountainwood will open for business in late summer 2020.

Nationally-recognized Integral Senior Living (ISL), based in Carlsbad, California, will manage Fountainwood. ISL will oversee all programs and services to include valet services, fine dining, bistro, bar and entertainment areas, salon and spa, multiple activities venues, a state-of-the-art fitness center, club rooms, theater, meditation garden, and interconnected courtyard pool with al fresco dining. ISL manages 58 senior communities across the country.

The project is the second Houston-area senior living development for TNRG and MedCore Partners. They opened the 80-unit Spring Cypress Assisted Living and Memory Care community in Cypress, Texas in June 2018. The second phase of Spring Cypress is currently in design which will add 138 Independent Living apartment units, hybrid townhomes, and garden homes to the campus.

“TNRG and MedCore are pleased to offer a best-in-class senior community to the residents in this market. We look forward to contributing to the economic and lifestyle growth of the Lake Houston area now and in the future,” said Jon Spears, Vice President at The National Realty Group.

The project is being financed by UMB Bank of Dallas. Dallas-based PRDG provided architectural and engineering services with interior design direction from Studio Six5 in Austin. Ridgemont Commercial Construction is the general contractor with landscape design by Pacheco Koch.
