News Release: Caddis to develop first Heartis senior living community in Florida

The 182-unit, 191,000 square foot Heartis Venice in the seaside community of Venice is a continuation of the firm’s expansion across the United States

In a continuation of its expansion across the country to provide new senior living options, Caddis® has begun developing its first Heartis® senior living community in Florida.

Heartis® Venice will feature 182 spacious independent living, assisted living and memory care apartments, a host of first-class amenities, and expansive ocean views on three sides. The three-story, 191,000 square foot community, which will be located at 1199 Tamiami Trail on U.S. Highway 41 in Venice, about 19 miles south of Sarasota, is expected to be completed in summer 2020.

Caddis CEO Jason L. Signor said that the Dallas-based national healthcare real estate firm is well known for its Heartis senior communities in Texas, but has been expanding into other areas of the country.

“During the past couple of years, Caddis began developing and opening new Heartis communities in the Midwest in Illinois and Wisconsin, as well as in the Southeast in Georgia,” Mr. Signor says. “Our nationwide brand expansion has provided seniors with lavish new living options. Now we are excited to expand into Florida with a new senior community that offers residents the highest-quality amenities, a fun, active environment and all the comforts of home.”

Jud Jacobs, Executive Vice President Development and Partner, says Heartis Venice will be in an ideal location.

“Heartis Venice is being built on Roberts Bay and will be surrounded on three sides by beautiful views of the ocean,” he says. “It will also offer convenient access off Tamiami Trail and U.S. Highway 41. Plus it will be near restaurants, hotels, historic downtown Venice and Venice Beach, and within walking distance to Legacy Trail, a 12-mile bicycle and walking path. Local seniors and their families are sure to find Heartis Venice an attractive new addition to the community.”

Heartis Venice will offer a wide variety of amenities, including a swimming pool; beautifully landscaped grounds with walking paths, seating areas and pocket parks; a wellness center; beauty salon/barber shop; activity rooms; large, secured courtyards; multiple dining options with chef-prepared meals; and ongoing social and recreational activities.

Special services will include a community shuttle service, nurse-supervised staff, 24-hour emergency call system, housekeeping and laundry services, and assistance with personal activities. The new community will be managed by Solvere Living, a St. Petersburg, Fla.-based firm that manages senior living communities across the country. The architect is Lantz-Boggio, which is headquartered in Greenwood Village, Colo., and the general contractor is Marietta, Ga.-based Freese Johnson.
