SUFFOLK, Va. – Ever since Norfolk, Va.-based Sentara Healthcare opened a new outpatient campus with a freestanding emergency department (FED) in the northern part of Suffolk in 2008, the number of patients needing to be transferred to other area hospitals has continued to grow.
