News Release: HarborChase of South Oklahoma City Project Breaks Ground

Retirement Associates, Confluent Senior Living Enter into Oklahoma Market to Deliver Senior Living Community

Project partners Confluent Senior Living and Harbor Retirement Associates (HRA) are pleased to announce the start of construction on HarborChase of South Oklahoma City, a 102,000-square-foot assisted living and memory care community.

Marking the first Oklahoma development for both Confluent Senior Living and HRA, the luxury retirement facility is scheduled to open in the fall of 2019. With a strong demand for senior housing in Oklahoma City, the new community will serve the needs of local seniors and families, providing 112 apartments.

HarborChase of South Oklahoma City will be managed by HRA, a regional senior living development and management company based in Vero Beach, Fla. The project marks HRA’s fourth partnership with Confluent Senior Living. Confluent Senior Living will serve as the project’s co-developer and owner and is a subsidiary of Confluent Development, a Denver-based real estate investment and development firm that has previously delivered three retail projects in Oklahoma.

“Confluent Senior Living is thrilled to enter into the Oklahoma market,” said Marshall Burton, president and CEO of Confluent Development. “This project marks our team’s 16th senior living community across nine states, and we’re very proud to continue our growth alongside our trusted and esteemed partner, HRA.”

The two-story development will be situated on six acres and feature 80 assisted living and 32 memory care apartments in a mixture of studio, one- and two-bedroom units. The project is located on the northwest corner of Earlywine Boulevard and S. May Avenue, about one mile from I-44 and 7.5 miles southwest of downtown Oklahoma City. The community will offer nearby access to dining, shopping, parks and Oklahoma City Community College lectures and performances.

“We’re thrilled to again be working with Confluent Senior Living as we both enter into a new market and continue our partnership’s growth,” said Charlie Jennings, chief development officer of Harbor Retirement Associates. “This community reflects HRA’s commitment to offer luxurious and pioneering services to seniors and families.”

HarborChase communities focus on serving seniors through providing choice and award-winning hospitality. Accredited Chefs prepare seasonal, farm-to-table Chef’s Fare selections daily. “Best Days” are created by our passionate life enrichment teams, and our highly trained professional care partners deliver resident-focused care.

The community will feature 24-hour staff; full-service bistro; multiple dining areas; community life enrichment room; chapel; clubrooms; barber and beauty salon; library; fitness and wellness center; outdoor courtyard; putting green and gardens; daily scheduled transportation; housekeeping service; and community-wide Wi-Fi. The community’s chapel/multi-purpose room will also function as a storm shelter designed to accommodate all residents and staff in the case of emergencies. While not required by building code, the project team will deliver this 2,648-square-foot storm shelter built to FEMA and ICC-500 requirements to ensure the safety of residents and staff.

Rosemann & Associates is serving as the architect on the project with Tulsa-based Cowen Construction as the general contractor.
