GREENCASTLE, Pa. – Summit Health officials hosted a groundbreaking ceremony Wednesday to celebrate the start of construction on a three-story, 45,000 square-foot medical office building to be built on Antrim Commons Drive.
The building will house a walk-in care facility as well as Primary Care and several specialty care practices; to include Orthopedics, Podiatry, Ear Nose and Throat, OB/GYN, lab, select imaging services, Occupational Health, and Behavioral Health.
“Summit Health’s mission is to provide local, comprehensive care to our community,” explained John Massimilla, COO. “We want to provide the needed medical services to members of our community in convenient locations. We are thrilled for the opportunity to be investing in the Greencastle community and expanding our services here.”
Summit Health currently has a Primary and Walk-in Care, Summit Women’s Group, and lab services available at the Grove Medical Center, located on Eastern Avenue.
According to Massimilla, the Primary Care and Walk-in Care will be transitioned to the new facility, but he expects lab and some imaging services to continue at the Grove Medical Center location.
Construction on the facility is expected to be complete by June 2019. Officials estimate about 80 staff and physicians would work out of the new facility, but they would not all be in the building simultaneously.
Brechbill and Helman Construction Company, Inc. will complete the project, estimated to cost $15 million.
