As Sanford Health’s new medical center exceeds projections, it plans to add more beds

The new 244-bed Sanford Medical Center Fargo, which opened in Fargo, N.D., in mid-2017, is already in need of more beds. The area’s growth and the attraction of a new hospital are given as a couple of reasons for the facility’s inpatient growth

Even though most healthcare professionals foresee a future with fewer inpatient hospital beds, at least one new hospital is experiencing volumes well above projections.

That hospital is the 244-bed Sanford Medical Center Fargo, which opened in North Dakota’s largest city in July 2017 and has already exceeded patient demand expected in 2022.
