News Release: Healthcare Real Estate Insights and Revista to publish outpatient development survey

Deadline is Feb. 9, 2018, to contribute data – and get an exclusive sneak preview of the results – for the second independently verified survey of medical real estate projects

MINNEAPOLIS, Jan. 10, 2018 – Revista and Healthcare Real Estate Insights (HREI) are launching the second annual survey that is the healthcare real estate (HRE) sector’s most comprehensive, accurate source of data on outpatient medical development activity.

The deadline to submit your firm’s development data – and to qualify to receive an exclusive sneak preview of the results – is Friday, Feb. 9. To participate, please visit: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/M5TYVDN. Participation is free and the results will be released this spring.

Revista is a Maryland-based firm that provides easily accessible and industry focused property data, reports and networking events, and Minneapolis-based HREI is the first and only national publication and website entirely dedicated to HRE development, financing and investment.

For the HRE Outpatient Development Survey, these two sector news and information leaders seek to collect and verify data on all outpatient development projects started or completed in 2017 that exceeded $2.5 million in value and that included at least 5,000 square feet of new or renovated space. The data will include:
• company name;
• property name;
• address;
• development cost;
• start and/or completion date;
• square footage (GLA); and
• whether the project is on, off or adjacent to a hospital campus.

“This survey is the first and only survey in the industry to provide a comprehensive look at the outpatient HRE development market and to identify the leading developers in the sector,” says HREI Editor John B. Mugford. “Last year’s inaugural survey generated a significant response and yielded information on over 11 million square feet of third party developed projects, as well as an HREI cover story that was one of the most-read articles in the magazine’s history. We expect our second survey will be just as popular if not more so.”

“Our annual Outpatient Development Survey is the most accurate and complete survey in the industry because Revista independently verifies the data contributed by the respondents,” explains Mike Hargrave, a Revista co-founder and principal. “The survey also provides valuable information such as how each development firm compares to the summed results and the overall rankings of the top developers in terms of square footage started or completed last year.”

For purposes of the survey, outpatient projects include all medical office buildings (MOBs), outpatient surgery centers, dialysis centers, clinics, freestanding emergency rooms/departments, imaging centers, urgent care centers, retail medical buildings, and other purpose-built medical buildings where outpatient care is provided. Buildings may be on campus or off campus.

Revista asks that only firms with lead development responsibility participate in this free survey. Survey participants are also asked to exclude any projects that include inpatient beds, and the square footage and cost of parking structures and land should not be included in the total project figures.

Special Editorial and Advertising Opportunities

Last year’s cover story featuring the development survey results was one of the most-read articles in HREI’s 15-year history. This year’s cover story, which is scheduled for the March 2018 edition, is expected to attract even more attention. Special advertising opportunities are available for healthcare real estate firms that would like to share in the excitement and high visibility of the special development survey edition of HREI.
