The future of medicine and health education recently began looking even brighter for the St. Louis region. Ground has been officially broken on the new $550 million, 316-bed SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital and Ambulatory Care Center in St. Louis. The 802,000 square foot replacement hospital, which is expected to be completed in fall 2020, is being built adjacent to the hospital’s current location on Grand Avenue, between Rutger and LaSalle Streets.
