News Release: Longtime San Antonio building/ infrastructure professional joins forces with nation’s leading healthcare facility developer

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS, June, 29, 2017 – Alvaro Rizo-Patron has recently joined Hammes, the nation’s leading provider of healthcare building strategies, as the new Regional Vice President for the company’s growing Texas market.

Mr. Rizo-Patron has been involved in many of San Antonio’s most important capital projects, including the

San Antonio Airport Expansion, Bexar County Courthouse Restoration, Houston Street Re-Development, Convention Center Expansion, University Health System Robert B. Green Clinic, Kelly Air Force Base Realignment and Closure Re-Development, and Alamo College Bond Program, among others. He also is involved in several local civic organizations, having served on the boards of Centro Alliance, San Antonio Manufacturers Association and St. Mary’s University Alumni Association.

Hammes also recently opened an office in San Antonio, adding to its existing offices in Houston and Dallas. Hammes is anticipating supporting further development of San Antonio, which can provide a positive economic impact to the San Antonio community. Hammes has plans to invest in new real estate developments and capital acquisitions over the next few years.

Mr. Rizo-Patron has more than 30 years of leadership experience with major building and infrastructure projects, including many in the healthcare and education sectors. He has been responsible for quality delivery and customer satisfaction on more than 40 capital improvement projects collectively valued at over $12 billion. His extensive client list includes leading healthcare and education organizations such as UHS, Houston Methodist, San Antonio ISD, Dallas ISD, the UT System, and many others.

Prior to joining Hammes, Rizo-Patron served in several leadership positions at Jacobs and Parsons. He also worked at the Southwest Institute in various positions, including Principal Research Engineer for the Robotics & Automation Department.

Rizo-Patron earned his master’s degree in industrial engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and his bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from St. Mary’s University.
