ProHealth Care announced on April 3 that it will consolidate its outpatient heart and vascular services in a building to be constructed on the campus of ProHealth Waukesha Memorial Hospital.
The new building will allow ProHealth Care’s extensive heart and vascular teams to offer a wide range of services in an easily accessible and patient-friendly environment.
The 37,000-square-foot heart and vascular center will be built on the west side of the hospital campus. The single-story building will be connected to the hospital by an underground walkway and also to an adjoining parking structure. The main entrance will be on the east side, facing the hospital, and will feature a covered patient drop-off area.
The building will bring together all of ProHealth Heart & Vascular Care’s outpatient services on the Waukesha Memorial campus. It will include:
• 28 examination rooms for use by cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons and vascular specialists.
• Non-surgical diagnostic services for heart and vascular disease.
• A new cardiac rehabilitation gym and equipment.
• A conference room for patient education and programming, including a demonstration kitchen to teach heart-healthy cooking.
• Administrative offices.
Heart and vascular surgery, related interventional services and inpatient care will continue to be provided within the hospital.
ProHealth Heart & Vascular Care provides cardiac and vascular interventions, cardiothoracic surgery, electrophysiology, cardiac rehabilitation and treatment of structural heart and valve problems and vascular disease. Services are provided by a team of more than 300 professionals including cardiologists, cardiothoracic and vascular surgeons, specialized nurses, and cardiovascular and cardiac rehabilitation experts.
“This new building will allow us to further enhance the excellent patient experience we provide for our heart and vascular patients,” said Kooroush Saeian, MD, a cardiologist and physician leader for heart and vascular care.
Construction will begin this fall. The building will open by fall 2018.
The building was designed by Eppstein Uhen Architects of Milwaukee.
In addition to Waukesha Memorial, the services of ProHealth Heart & Vascular Care also are provided at ProHealth Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital and the ProHealth Medical Group clinics in Brookfield, New Berlin, Mukwonago, Muskego and Pewaukee.
