Mount Sinai continues to see growing demand for its services on Biscayne Bay

When Mount Sinai Medical Center of Florida opened its first emergency department (ED) on its campus in Miami Beach in 1972, there were three other hospitals on the island, which was inhabited mostly by retirees.

Things have changed quite a bit since then, as Mount Sinai is now the only hospital and ED on Miami Beach, which, for the most part, is now home to a much younger, jet-setting populace.
