Industry Pulse: MOB deliveries on pace to rise by 37% this year

Last month, in the article “Construction starts might decline this year,” we reported that the building research firm Dodge Data & Analytics, estimated that healthcare construction starts would decline by 4.5 percent in square footage and 2.9 percent in value this year compared to 2015.

However, as we noted in the article, Dodge doesn’t break out medical office buildings (MOBs) from the totals for healthcare facilities. As a result, we couldn’t tell from its data if MOB trends were similar to those of healthcare construction as whole.
