News Release: HDR’s project architect promoted to associate

Denver, CO – Congratulations to Amanda Owens, project architect in HDR’s Denver architecture office, for her recent promotion to Associate.

A nomination-based annual internal program, existing officers and professional associates are asked to nominate employees who demonstrate enthusiastic leadership qualities.

Owens, who has been with HDR for five years, has worked on high-profile projects including the University of Colorado Hospital inpatient tower and Anschutz Cancer Pavilion expansion; the Fort Carson, Colorado 13th Combat Aviation Brigade Barracks; and Humber River Regional Hospital in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She is currently working on an expansion of the University of Colorado Boulder’s Jennie Smoly Caruthers Biotechnology building.

Owens is also in charge of the internship and academic alliance program in the Denver office, and she is always looking for ways to enhance the program. She is involved in local community organizations including the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver and Mount Saint Vincent, a treatment center for children who have severe behavioral and emotional challenges, as well.

“I am honored to be nominated,” she says. “It’s nice to have my work recognized.”

“Amanda is doing an outstanding job of balancing her projects with her continued involvement in our Denver community,” says Jason Uyeda, managing principal for HDR’s Denver architecture practice. “Her work on several complex and high- profile projects in our studio has been stellar, and her focus on delivering for our clients continues to be impressive.”

HDR’s Denver architecture practice was started in 2006. With clients including the University of Colorado Health, University of Colorado Boulder and Kaiser Permanente Colorado, our Denver-based team continues to lend its expertise on projects of multiple scales and complexities.
