Feature Story: Insights Awards finalists announced

Second annual event honors healthcare real estate’s top people and projects

As Scottsdale basked in brilliant sunshine in late 2013, 82-year-old Robert A. “Bob” Rosenthal’s sunny disposition was on display as he bounded onto a stage inside the Phoenician Resort.

Upon receiving the 2013 HREI Lifetime Achievement Award for a career that spanned five decades, Mr. Rosenthal hoisted the beautiful, pyramid-shaped trophy above his head in triumph.

It was a special moment on a special day in which Healthcare Real Estate Insights™ presented our first-ever HREI Insights Awards™. Winners included developments in seven different categories depending on the type and size of the project, two professionals as co-executives of the year, and the ecstatic Mr. Rosenthal, a pioneer in medical office building development.

This year, the enthusiasm continues for the second annual HREI Insights Awards™, as we received a record number of entries for the country’s only awards program that honors the best of the best in healthcare real estate development, financing and investment, be they our seven awards for projects or our two awards for professionals.

The awards for the top projects are unique in that unlike other facilities awards programs, the focus is not on design but on the stories, strategies and skills that go into planning and completing successful real estate developments.

Our staff selected the award Finalists and members of our HREI™ Editorial Advisory Board – all of whom are experienced HRE professionals – chose the best of the best as category Winners. (Please note that no board members were involved in judging entries they submitted or with which they were affiliated.)
We would like to thank all of those who submitted the record number of entries this year, as well as our board members, who showed the utmost in professionalism in making their choices. A special thanks goes out to our sponsors, whose support has made this all possible. We also are appreciative of the RealShare Conference Series, which again has offered us the opportunity to present the awards during its annual Scottsdale event.

Please join us in congratulating the Finalists of the 2014 HREI Insights Awards™. With this program continuing to grow, it is clear to see that these awards have truly become an important, annual event in the healthcare real estate sector. Next month, we’ll feature the Winners.
