Needless to say, any doctor who has been involved in providing medical care for a number of decades has watched the business get turned on its head in recent years. Physicians such as Dr. Arthur Klein, who graduated from medical school 42 years ago and today is president of the Mount Sinai Health Network in New York, calls the current era the “most complex” he’s ever seen. While many of today’s changes are taking place as a result of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), a host of others were evolving before its passage, he notes.
