As part of our look back at our first 10 years of publishing Healthcare Real Estate Insights™, we knew we wanted to include an article naming the top 10 stories of the past decade. Our original vision was to spotlight the top 10 single news events, such as major developments or transactions.
But as we immersed ourselves in the HREI™ archives, we quickly realized that selecting the top 10 individual events would be next to impossible. With 120 monthly editions, thousands of articles and close to 2 million words of editorial copy, there have been just too many important stories to pinpoint a top 10.
So rather than try to choose the top 10 individual stories, we decided to more broadly recognize 10 major topics and trends. These are the “big picture” events and changes that have fundamentally shaped the healthcare real estate (HRE) sector during our first decade of publishing HREI™. Any list of this kind is subjective, of course, so your list might differ. But here’s ours:
