WASHINGTON, D.C. – The uncertainty concerning the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act is over. As this edition was going to press, the U.S. Supreme Court ended months of speculation in voting 5-4 that the law is indeed constitutional and that individuals can be fined if they do not obtain health insurance. While the Court’s ruling raises plenty of speculation about a variety of topics – such as whether President Obama’s chances for re-election have been enhanced – other questions remain. First and foremost for healthcare real estate professionals, the question is: What does this mean for the medical real estate sector?
