Ever since the first hospital was built in what would become the United States back in the 1750s, physicians and healthcare administrators have had to adapt and change with the times. Healthcare has always been, and always will be, an industry on the move.

However, the current era – what with all of the implications of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, fast-paced technological advancements, slow economic times, a pending shortage of physicians, and myriad other factors – seems to be bringing about as much change, if not more, than ever.
